My mind’s not working.
Or rather, it’s working so hard nowadays, I couldn’t slow down to blog. I’ve an upcoming conference next week (nooooo!!!), and I’m up to my neck in preparations. So bear with me and my sporadic blog posts for now.
Last Saturday found us visiting for the nth time the one and only place where kids and adults could have fun (read: we’re suckers for Disneyland). Well, actually, I got lucky again this year. Every year the recreation department offers super-duper discounted tickets for Disney Resort (Disneyland and Disneysea) to employees and their families. I applied as usual. And as usual, there were more applicants than available slots, so they decided by lottery. Lucky us, we got chosen!
To those of you who are planning to go to Tokyo Disneyland, don’t miss the chance to see Captain Jack Sparrow in the newly spruced up Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Adventureland. Jack Sparrow not only makes one, but THREE appearances! You won’t be disappointed, especially if you’re a fan of the movie. The resemblance is uncanny.
Here’s a photo to whet your appetite:
Yeah, that’s just his head. He replaced that silly-looking girl who used to occupy the same barrel. But you’ll have a full body view of Jack Sparrow in two other places. I didn’t bother taking photos for the other two – I was too busy appreciating the whole scene before me!
Wow, Johnny Depp is now immortalized. His beloved Jack Sparrow character is now a fixture at one of the world’s most-visited places.
Beware the Krakken. Here’s a map you would find along the wall just before you ride the boat. Hmm. The folks at Disney really want to milk this cash-cow for all it’s worth.
But if you were to ask me, if there’s one character in the movie that I would absolutely love to see inside the ride, it would be tako(octopus)-faced Davy Jones! Wouldn’t those tentacles be such a sight!
What about you, who would you rather see in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride?
sino pa kundi si Legolas este Wil Turner hehehe
To those of you planning a trip to Tokyo Disneyland!
Who, me? Yes, I hope me. I don’t see how … but who knows ha. Sucks that when I went to Japan Disneyland may not even be a seed of an idea.
Anyway, Enchanted Kingdom, here I come. Haven’t even been there yet. Dyahi me.
Heh, I’d be lucky if I even step foot inside Disneyland, much less ride the Pirates of the Caribbean.
Buti ka pa! I can’t even win a pen in a roleta-type raffle! I would love to see the real Jack Sparrow (read: THE Johnny Depp)! 🙂 Hope that helped give your mind the much-needed energy boost!
Good for you that Disneyland is at your doorstep ! Galing nyo naman that anytime you can visit Disney 🙂
My family planned to visit Disney Euro last month. I vetoed it in the end, my son is 3-y/o. He can only really enjoy just one section of the massive theme park. But I told hubby we should go X number of times next year!
😛
And you won in the raffle, that is so cool! Would love to try that Pirates ride, must be exciting, 🙂
wow, what luck! like verns, would love to see legolas ha ha
Hi Kathy, ang swerte mo naman…Glad to know you’ve enjoyed your Disney visit again…Hay, kelan kaya ako makarating dyan? Btw, my sis would be going to Japan for her masteral this October. Can I link her to you, she has few friends there, it’s only her second visit.
Verns, I knew you’d say that! 😀
Enchanted Kingdom? That makes two of us. I’ve never been there myself. 😉
Sounds like it has been *that long* since you last visited Japan! Meron na bang shinkansen non?
Tokyo Disneyland, maybe. But how about Hongkong Disneyland? 😉
Me too! How I wish it were really Johnny Depp.
If there is really one thing that would help take your mind off things, it would be Disneyland. But it would also take money out of your pocket and energy out of your legs hahah.
Yeah, lucky us! We’ll try our luck again next year (with the lottery, that is). 😀
If you have a young kid in tow, it’s nearly impossible to visit all the attractions. We usually go easy with the rides and spend a lot of time enjoying the street parades and shows.
Hope you finally get the chance to visit next year! 😀
Julie, Pirates really is one of our all-time favorites. Hope you get the chance to try it one of these days. 🙂
Orlando Bloom is such a charmer, isn’t he? 🙂
Congrats to your sis! Saang university ba siya? Sure, I’d love to link up with her.
So ibig sabihin niyan baka puede ka na ring punta rito for a visit to your sister? 😀
