I was browsing through our old photos, when I chanced upon a couple of photos taken almost exactly around this time, five years ago: August 16, 2002. I couldn’t help but feel so nostalgic.
What were the circumstances then?
Me and Aya, when we were both five years younger. 🙂
When the photo above was taken, Aya was about 8 weeks old. I was enjoying my last week of my maternity leave (I took 8 weeks of maternity leave after Aya was born).
The room where that photo was taken was one of the rooms where Aya and I spent a lot of time together: with her asleep in my left arm, my right arm busy maneuvering the mouse and typing on the keyboard. Moms are made for multitasking, what can I say? 🙂
As you know, although infants can be pretty demanding when they’re awake, they do spend a lot of time sleeping. A fact which I found to be rather advantageous, considering that Baggy and I were exerting a lot of our creative energies into the websites we were developing then. For that we need to spend a lot of time on the computer.
The monitor shows a “snapshot” of the early Bahay Kubo Research website. Ah, our first labor of love. The site was first hosted at Geocities.com, but before long we later decided that it deserved a domain of its own. Seven years after its creation, it is still alive and well. Like our daughter, it is continuing its growth process, inspite of some inevitable lulls.
Of course, it’s an entirely different story when Aya was awake; there was nothing else to do but turn our attention to our demanding, sometimes bawling, but truly adorable munchkin. 🙂
If only babies could speak…
Nowadays, she’s competing with us for PC time. Haha. Kids do grow up so fast…before you know it, they’ll be evicting you from your seat!
Hehehe, time does fly by so quick. Tingnan mo, naka-duster ka pa noon. Anyways, maybe it’s time you get your munchkin her own PC… or a laptop, hehe. 😀
Right … so enjoy Aya now in the stage where she is (5?) and then get ready for yet another stage every bit as enjoyable. 🙂 Am enjoying too … 🙂
In other words, we can all enjoy the process.
..and before long, she’ll be bloggin up a storm! 🙂
they grow so quickly indeed!
she’s such a cutie 🙂
Ayyy, Ayang-Aya pa rin ang hitsura niya as a baby! Am I right, may pagka-Angelina Jolie ang lips ni Aya? Medyo bee-stung look?
I see a Rocking Girl/ Thinking Blogger awardee in the offing. ( And that’s besides being a smart scientist and artist pa!) Ay, Mommy and Daddy really have reason to be so proud.
Duster?!! lol @ snglguy
Oo nga no. Hay those were the days. I wish I could have more of those relaxed days at home.
As for her own laptop or PC – hmm…not a bad idea. We already have two PCs in the house…problem is, she wants to use the newer and faster one! Grr! 🙁
Yes, she’s now 5 years old.
I didn’t know having children would be this much fun! 🙂 Thanks for being there. Definitely glad to know you’re enjoying!
Gypsy, actually just a while ago my husband and I were discussing if blogging would still be around in the next 5 to 10 years. Or if it would evolve into something completely different. I do wonder myself if blogging would still be around by the time Aya would be old enough to do it.
Aya, finish your assignment before you bloghop!!!
Thanks, Pining!
As Annamanila said, we really should enjoy every stage. 🙂
Angelina Jolie lips??? Wow, she would be so lucky. 🙂 I never thought of it that way, actually. I think you’re right, though.
Proud parents indeed – although I must tell you that she could be a brat sometimes. I think all children are (brats sometime, that is).
